SMOKE ON THE WATER
Ingredients:
- 6-7 muddled blackberries
- 2 oz Johnny Walker black
- ½ lime
- ¾ simple syrup
- ¼ cointreau
Directions:
Shake ingredients together and serve in a large stemless burgundy glass with large ice sphere. Mist with Laphroaig light citrus disk to top the cocktail. |

For those visiting the Nation’s Capital, be sure not to miss the fascinating Archives exhibit, What’s Cooking, Uncle Sam? on display now through January 2012. To make it a truly unique experience, venture across the street to José’s new temporary restaurant, America Eats Tavern, which was inspired by the same history of American cooking found at the Archives, but presented in José’s way. Set in the former Café Atlantico space, America Eats tells the story of American culinary traditions with classic dishes and ingredients reinvented in José’s modern style. Opening July 4th through January 2012, America Eats Tavern is also a benefit for the Foundation for the National Archives with proceeds from the restaurant being donated to the Foundation.
